WA: Boy critical after being shot in head
PERTH, Aug 5 AAP - A 10-year-old boy is in a critical condition in a Perth hospitalafter being shot in the head at a remote Aboriginal community in Western Australia's Kimberleyregion.
Police said the boy was one of three boys playing with a loaded rifle at the BalgoAboriginal community yesterday morning.
"The gun has gone off, we believe accidentally, and he's been hit in the head," a policespokesman said.
He said the boy was treated at the Balgo nursing post before being airlifted to Perthlate yesterday by the Royal Flying Doctor service.
He was in a critical condition at Princess Margaret Hospital, the spokesman said.
