COLONIE -- Virginia G. Senna, 89, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 1999 in the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia, following a brief illness. Born in Charlestown, WV, she had resided in Colonie for many years. Virginia was selected to go on tour with a local family type touring vaudeville show. She was know professionally as Gladys Tharpe and joined the chorus line of the Harry C. Lewis Company. She met and married her late husband, Philip M.F. `Mickey` Senna, a trombonist, who headlined his own orchestra, the Jimtown Rhythm Kings. Together, they toured the eastern seaboard and Canada on the Keith and Orphium Circuit during the 1920's. Virginia was a member …
